Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

The Journal of Innovative Research in Management Sciences (JIRMS) is committed to the long-term preservation, integrity, and accessibility of the scholarly record. The Journal maintains a comprehensive digital preservation strategy to ensure that published content remains permanently available, authentic, and accessible to the global research community, regardless of technological changes or unforeseen service interruptions.

Digital Preservation

JIRMS preserves its published content through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a trusted preservation service developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) to provide long-term preservation of journals published using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

The PKP Preservation Network securely preserves eligible journal content by maintaining geographically distributed archival copies, helping ensure continued access to published articles if the Journal's website becomes unavailable or ceases operation.

Scope of Preservation

The Journal's digital preservation programme includes published scholarly content and associated publication files, including:

  • Full-text articles;
  • PDF publication files;
  • Article metadata;
  • Persistent identifiers (DOIs);
  • Supplementary files, where applicable, and
  • Other digital objects associated with the published scholarly record.

Persistent Access

Each published article is assigned a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to facilitate reliable citation, long-term discoverability, and continued access. JIRMS maintains complete bibliographic metadata to support interoperability with indexing, abstracting, and scholarly discovery services.

Preservation Commitment

JIRMS is committed to preserving the authenticity, integrity, and availability of its published content. The Journal periodically reviews its preservation arrangements to ensure continued alignment with evolving international standards, technological developments, and best practices in digital preservation.

Should preservation technologies or preservation partners change in the future, JIRMS will take appropriate measures to ensure uninterrupted preservation and continued public access to the scholarly record.

Policy Compliance and Review

This policy supports internationally recognized principles for the long-term preservation of scholarly publications and aligns with the recommendations and best practices promoted by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), and other recognized scholarly communication initiatives.
