Instructions for Authors
The Journal of Innovative Research in Management Sciences (JIRMS) publishes scope-oriented, theoretically grounded, and empirically rigorous Original Research Articles in the fields of Accounting and Finance, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and other emerging areas of Management Sciences.
The Journal welcomes high-quality quantitative and qualitative research that advances scholarly understanding through innovative theories, robust methodologies, and sophisticated analytical approaches. Manuscripts should present original and significant contributions to knowledge by introducing novel ideas, concepts, frameworks, or research designs and by addressing real-world managerial, organizational, and societal challenges with meaningful implications for theory, practice, and policy.
JIRMS publishes Original Research Articles only and does not ordinarily consider review articles, conceptual papers, case studies, book reviews, short communications, conference papers, or manuscripts that have been previously published or are under consideration elsewhere.
Originality and Exclusive Submission
Submitted manuscripts must:
- be original and unpublished;
- not be under consideration by another journal or publisher;
- not contain plagiarized, fabricated, falsified, or improperly attributed material;
- comply with the Journal's Publication Ethics and Research Integrity Policy, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy, and Plagiarism and Similarity Screening Policy; and
- satisfy all applicable ethical and legal requirements.
Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and professional English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to obtain professional language editing before submission.
Manuscript Length
Research manuscripts should ordinarily be between 7,000 and 9,000 words, including references, tables, figures, and appendices, unless otherwise approved by the Editor.
Title Page
- The title page should include:
- Full title of the manuscript;
- Full names of all authors;
- Institutional affiliations;
- ORCID iDs of all authors;
- Corresponding author's name and email address; and
To preserve the integrity of the double-blind peer-review process, author-identifying information should appear only on the title page. It should not be included in the anonymized manuscript file.
Abstract and Keywords
Manuscripts must include a structured abstract of approximately 250-300 words, and should ordinarily address:
- Purpose of the study;
- Design/methodology/approach;
- Findings;
- Practical implications; and
- Originality
Followed by three to six keywords and relevant JEL classification codes.
Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should normally be organized as follows:
- Introduction
- Background and context;
- Problem statement;
- Research gap and objectives;
- Research questions and/or hypotheses; and
- Significance of the study.
- Literature Review and Theoretical Framework
- Methodology
- Research design;
- Population and sample;
- Data collection procedures;
- Measures and instruments; and
- Data analysis techniques.
- Analysis & Results
- Discussion
- Interpretation of findings;
- Comparison with previous studies;
- Theoretical implications;
- Practical implications;
- Limitations of the study; and
- Future research directions.
- Conclusion
- References
- Appendices (where applicable)
Tables and Figures
JIRMS follows the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), Seventh Edition (APA 7th Edition).
Authors should ensure that:
- Tables and figures are numbered consecutively in the order in which they are cited in the text.
- Each table and figure includes a concise and descriptive title.
- Tables and figures are self-explanatory and do not duplicate information already presented in the text.
- All abbreviations, symbols, statistical notations, and explanatory information are clearly defined in a general note, specific note, or probability note, as appropriate, in accordance with APA 7th Edition requirements.
- Statistical significance levels should be reported consistently (e.g., p < .05, p < .01, p < .001).
- Sources of adapted or reproduced material must be properly acknowledged, and authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any copyrighted material where required.
- Figures should be of sufficient quality and resolution to ensure accurate reproduction in both online and archival formats.
Tables and figures that do not conform to APA 7th Edition formatting requirements may be returned to the authors for revision before the manuscript proceeds to peer review or publication.
References and Citation Style
JIRMS follows the APA 7th Edition for:
- in-text citations;
- references;
- tables and figures;
- statistical reporting; and
- other style requirements.
Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all references and should provide Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), where available.
Mandatory Declarations
The following statements must appear immediately before the References section:
- Conflict of Interest Statement;
- Funding Statement;
- Data Availability Statement;
- Author Contributions Statement; and
- Acknowledgements, where applicable.
Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the OJS online submission system, together with all required declarations and supporting information.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all information provided during submission is accurate, complete, and approved by all co-authors.
