Publication Ethics & Research Integrity Policy

The Journal of Innovative Research in Management Sciences (JIRMS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and academic transparency. The Journal publishes original, high-quality research in the field of Accounting & Finance, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Marketing, interdisciplinary emerging themes, and expects all participants in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, editors, Editorial Board members, and the Publisher, to uphold the principles of honesty, fairness, accountability, and professional integrity.

JIRMS follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing. Allegations of research or publication misconduct are handled fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with established international guidance.

Policy Statement

All manuscripts submitted to JIRMS must represent original scholarly work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration by another journal. The Journal does not tolerate any form of research or publication misconduct, including but not limited to:

  • Plagiarism or self-plagiarism;
  • Data fabrication or falsification;
  • Citation manipulation;
  • Duplicate or redundant publication;
  • Simultaneous submission to multiple journals;
  • Undisclosed use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) where disclosure is required;
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted content, such as AI-generated text, manipulated images, fabricated references, or other integrity concerns;
  • Inappropriate authorship, including guest, gift, or ghost authorship;
  • Manipulation of the peer-review process; and
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its evaluation.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to editorial quality assessment, plagiarism and similarity screening, AI-assisted content screening, and research integrity checks under human editorial oversight before entering peer review.

Research Integrity

JIRMS promotes responsible research and scholarly communication. Authors are expected to present their research accurately, report findings honestly, acknowledge the work of others appropriately, and retain supporting data where necessary to verify the integrity of the published record.

Where research involves human participants, organizations, or confidential business information, authors must confirm that the research was conducted in accordance with applicable ethical, legal, and institutional requirements.

Editorial Responsibility

The Editorial Office investigates suspected breaches of publication ethics in accordance with internationally recognized procedures. Where appropriate, the Journal may request explanations, supporting documentation, institutional clarification, or additional evidence before reaching a decision.

Depending on the nature and severity of the concern, the Journal may reject a manuscript, publish a correction or retraction, issue an Expression of Concern, notify the relevant institution, or take other appropriate editorial action to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Responsibilities

Maintaining publication ethics is a shared responsibility of authors, editors, and the publisher.

 

Policy Compliance and Review

JIRMS is committed to maintaining publication ethics and research integrity in accordance with the recommendations and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA). The policy will be reviewed annually or as required to reflect developments in publication ethics, research integrity, or international publishing standards.
