Research Data and Data Availability Policy

The Journal of Innovative Research in Management Sciences (JIRMS) supports research transparency, reproducibility, and responsible data stewardship. Authors are encouraged to preserve, manage, and share research data wherever appropriate, while recognizing that legal, ethical, commercial, or confidentiality obligations may limit public access to certain datasets.

This policy applies to quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, primary, and secondary research submitted to the Journal

Data Availability

Authors should include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript indicating the availability of the data supporting the reported findings.

Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to make research data available through recognized institutional or subject-specific repositories or provide access upon reasonable request.

Where data cannot be shared, authors should clearly state the reason, such as:

  • confidentiality or privacy obligations;
  • institutional or contractual restrictions;
  • commercial sensitivity;
  • legal or regulatory requirements; or
  • ethical considerations.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and appropriate management of the data underlying their research. Where requested during editorial assessment, authors may be asked to provide supporting data or additional information to verify the reliability of the reported findings.

The Journal does not require authors to publicly disclose confidential, proprietary, or legally restricted data.

Editorial Assessment

Where necessary, the Editorial Office may request clarification regarding data availability or supporting evidence during the editorial or peer-review process. Such requests are made solely to support research integrity and the verification of published findings.

Compliance

JIRMS encourages responsible research data management in accordance with internationally recognized best practices, including the FAIR Principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable), the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Crossref, and other recognized scholarly publishing standards.
